Museum of Jose Rizal, Fort Santiago, the Philippines

Housed at Fort Santiago, the actual site where Filipino national hero José Rizal was detained before his 1896 trial and execution by firing squad on 30 December 1896 at Bagumbayan field. The structure, destroyed in WWII, was rebuilt in 1953 and is now run by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, one of three Rizal museums (alongside Calamba and Dapitan).

Six galleries trace Rizal's final days, from his departure from Dapitan to his execution, through artifacts and exhibits including his personal effects and clothing, sculptures he created, a vertebra from his remains, and paintings depicting his life and death.
